Vollversammlung gegen Rechts

Below you will find the sections: What?, Procedure, Q&A and Share message

What?

The shift to the right in society and at universities is the most pressing challenge of our time! The presence of right-wing extremist opinions at university is becoming more and more overwhelming, right-wing violence is increasing everywhere and the plans of right-wing extremists and co. directly threaten all our lives. This is why we are calling for a student assembly against the right on Wednesday 11 December at 18:30.

We will unite as a student body to make demands for consistent action against the shift to the right on our campus at TU Dresden. We will decide to actively take away space from the right-wing extremists. And we will show that their inhuman ideologies have no place here. The General Assembly is the place for all students to send a clear signal against the right. To be the voice against the right. And it’s not just TU Dresden students who are invited, but all students at Dresden’s universities. Employees and lecturers in solidarity are also welcome.

You don’t need any previous experience to come to an assembly. It is the most low-threshold way to take a stand at the university. Come as you are and preferably bring your fellow students with you.

Programm

6.30 pm Start of the General Assembly in the HSZ/Audimax of the TU Dresden

6.30 p.m. – 7.15 p.m. – Opening of the plenary assembly and arrival together. Afterwards, various speakers will talk about their experiences and how they have been affected by right-wing extremism in Germany and at the university. There will be speakers from: Studis gegen Rechts, the Bündnis gegen Kürzungen, the Refugee Law Clinic, from Beschäftigtenperpesktive and on the university elections.

19.15 – 20.30 – The 5 prepared demands will be presented. We then discuss them and vote on the demands we will make to TU Dresden. Together as students, we decide to take action against right-wing extremist actors, such as the AfD, on campus and on the streets beyond the plenary session and at the same time to make the campus a tolerant, student-friendly place again.

Afterwards: Rounding off the plenary session with punch and mulled wine (weather permitting)

Q&A

What is a student assembly anyway?
A plenary assembly is a place where all students come together to exchange ideas, gather information and discuss important topics. Prepared demands are voted on at the meeting. But you don’t need any experience for a plenary assembly. Just turn up and make your voice heard against the right!

What happens to the demands?
On 19 December, we will present the demands to the StuRa plenum, which will then officially adopt them as demands of the TU Dresden student body. In any case, we will publish the demands and submit them to TU Dresden.

Who can come to the General Assembly?
The student assembly is primarily aimed at students, lecturers and employees, primarily from TU Dresden but also from other universities in Dresden. Supporters are also very welcome.

📣 Student plenary assembly against the right

📆 Wednesday 11.12.
⏰ 18:30
📍 HSZ/Audimax of the TU Dresden

🏫 Over 30% of 18 to 24-year-olds voted for the AfD in this year’s state elections. This makes the AfD the second strongest force in the state parliament!

👉 The shift to the right is the most pressing challenge of our time and is becoming ever more noticeable. Not only in politics, but also in our everyday lives

⚡️Unsere Dresden’s universities should be a place of peaceful coexistence, tolerance, critical discourse and opportunities for all. The AfD’s policies attack this: They would love to abolish the StuRa, cut BaföG rates, ban gender studies, and introduce higher tuition fees for foreign students.

📣 The university must now take a clear stance. And we as students must organise ourselves and take action against the right.

💥 That’s why we’re organising a general assembly against the right. On Wednesday, 11 December at 18:30 in the HSZ/Audimax of TU Dresden!

💯 So come along so that we can send a strong signal against the right! Let’s turn our campus back into a place where Nazis and co. have absolutely nothing to say. A place where we can live together as equals and in solidarity.

Because when, if not now, and who, if not us?
